[OOP] {Week 2} + Assignment 1
Fancy a nice cuppa Java?
As Mr Gilligan reveals more and more of Java functionality, I'm sure all of you is just itching to start putting the theory into practice!
Some of us knows Java already to certain extent, but some (me for example) had never used it before. It's similar to C in a way that you need to compile your code first in order to run it; syntax should also be familiar for us at this stage. So let's dive into it!
I hope you managed to install your JDK on your computer successfully. It is important for you to be able to do those fundamental things in order to feel more comfortable with computers and to better understand how they work. So if you didn't manage to install and use it yet - try to google or youtube how to do it and that should do the trick.
However - if for some reason you can't install it or you want to use some other computer to practice your Java - here's a list of on-line Java compilers that you can use in the beginning - remembering that it does not give you a full Java programming experience, as using a command line is also a very important part of your practice.
Tutorials Point - also a great site for knowledge
Compile Java

So get cracking! There's no better way of learning programming than actually writing the codes yourself.
Make sure you go through the slides from last night (link to my Google Drive below), I recommend to you play around with John's codes and see how exactly they work.
ALSO! (:D) Our first Assignment is out! Check the Drive folder below, see if that's something you could tackle using only what we know now and a bit of googling.

Bonne Chance!
